Endometriosis

As we welcome in the Month of March, our thoughts are of wearing of the green for St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Training, March Madness and the official first day of the Spring Season! This year Dennis and I would like you to also think of the disease Endometriosis. March is dedicated to this disease and the color to support it is Yellow!
Endometriosis is a gynecological disorder which affects 5.5 million women in North America alone. Endometriosis tissue grows inside the uterus, outside the uterus (on the ovaries, fallopian tubes and other areas in the pelvis).
Our daughter Kathy has been suffering with this disorder for 7 years, she has had several laparoscopic surgeries to scrape this tissue off her organs, and unfortunately, the disease keeps returning. Kathy is considered to have “extreme endometriosis” which is very difficult to gain any type of control. Kathy suffers from back pain, pelvic pain, and extensive bleeding.
This month Kathy is undergoing yet another surgery, she is having her left ovary removed, and nerves cut to her uterus and cervix. We are praying that this will be the end of her Endometriosis. We are very proud of our daughter, her determination, and strength to fight this disease has been unending; even though she is in constant pain, she refuses to allow this to stop her busy life; she has hope that she can beat this and begin to live a pain-free lifestyle.
Kathy has been communicating with other women from across the world on facebook about this disease; this has helped Kathy in knowing that she is not alone in her pain. So, to Kathy and all the women who are suffering, we pray for you, and offer encouragement and love that one day your body will be rid of pain, and your future will once again be sunny!
